Hourly Salary Schedule Class & Step Advancement

After you, as an adjunct faculty member, receive your initial salary placement, you may advance your position to increase your hourly rate. Salary schedule advancement is addressed in Article 27 of the AFA contract.

Salary schedule class advancement is accomplished by completing a sufficient number of units in approved upper division courses at a college or university to qualify for a higher class. You may also use up to five units of lower division coursework, subject to provisions of the contract. You should get any coursework approved for class advancement before you start your studies.
