Department Participation

Adjunct faculty members are not required to perform District and department service unless compensated to do so. However, adjunct faculty members may participate in department activities and may use District resources as established in the California Education Code Section 87482.8  (See also AFA Publications Adjunct Q&A issue and reference the Q&A, "What is AFA's position on adjuncts performing extra unpaid work (SLOs, Accreditation, Curriculum, etc.)?") 

An adjunct faculty member with an assignment of 40% or more may vote in an election or recall of the department chair.
